Vishal Jain’s journey to being a successful entrepreneur is well-known to everyone who follows him. His struggles, his perseverance in the face of adversities and his will to succeed have made him one of the most prominent millennials in India.
However, even after reaching heights of success at such a young age, Vishal does not consider himself a superior being; he thinks that everyone can be as successful as him if they are determined and work hard to achieve their goals. Because Vishal understands that many aspiring entrepreneurs are struggling to make their business (and themselves successful), he has shared some of his wisdom to help these individuals break through.
Firstly, Vishal encourages the avid use of credit cards while making a purchase of anything. He has an inspiring story related to it. Before he got big, Vishal once went to a bank to apply for a credit card as it was required to make international purchases, he researched and found out the benefits of the black card and applied for it without realizing that one of the core requirements was an income stream of over 25 lac rupees per annum to be eligible for that card, manager laughed at him seeing his age and bank balance but the same manager after a year came to his home with the black card application form. Now that’s some payback!
Vishal believes that there are many benefits of using a credit card instead of cash. For instance, Flipkart and Amazon including 10 other ecommerce sites have a smart buy policy on Diners Club Black card where you get 33% of the total value of item you purchase as reward points. For instance if you buy a Rs 10,000 item you get Rs 3300 as reward points which you can use to book flights, hotels and a lot of things (Capped at 40,000 per month). Apart from this, the card has a 3.3 percent reward point policy on any purchase you make on the card, be it business or personal. So if your business and personal expense is 15 lakhs you get Rs 50,000 reward points. Me and my family have not paid a penny for a single flight ticket or hotel room for 2 years now. Furthermore, the Diners Club credit card also allows you to enjoy free food at domestic and international airports. Just a card swipe and you are good to go! Also it comes with great joining offers like free yearly membership to Marriott hotels, Forbes Digital, Zomato Gold, Make My Trip Black and a lot more. Also if you spend 80,000 a month you get free movie and ola vouchers every month worth 1500.
Secondly, in his blog about marriage, Vishal says “Your parents are the only ones who really give a shit about you. Everybody else always intentionally or unintentionally have agendas of their own. Only your parents’ love is unconditional. But it’s also important to understand that not all their decisions are meant to have a good outcome. They are prone to making mistakes as they are humans too. Trust your judgement as well, always ask yourself “is this what I really want in life?” When it comes to marriages a lot of people fall in the guilt trap of parents and end of marrying someone they don’t want to, which spoils their entire married life because they didn’t question the sensibility of the decision.
He feels that one of the reasons as to why marriage are somewhat sustainable is because of the way women are forced by society to stay in them for the sake of children. However, this has led to unhappy spouses and weak relationships between most couples, which is why everyone – especially women – should try to become independent so that they do not have to rely on anyone else and stay with them just because they have nowhere else to go.
Furthermore, Vishal advises all young people to stop worrying so much about what others think about their choice. In his blog, he says, “if you worry too much about people around you, you will never be able to focus on what truly makes you happy. Someone can be wrong for the entire world but right for you, not everyone is supposed to like what you like”. He also believes that people should choose wisely and before getting into something as serious as a marriage, they should get to know each other properly instead of rushing into things. He says “Love is not enough for a marriage to work, Trust, Respect and Understanding each other is way more important.
All the advices given by Vishal are based on his personal experiences. He says that “Your happiness is your own responsibility, no one can fix that for you, so first think about your own self before making any decision in life. If you are not happy, you can’t keep anyone around you happy.”
