Ronald Hohmann – The New Prince Of Tennis

It was at the age of four when Ronald Hohmann held a tennis racket for the first time. Spending most of his childhood in his grandparents backyard tennis court, Ronald had developed a love for the game from his inception.

Born in Oyster Bay, NY and currently a nationally ranked tennis player, Ronald Hohmann shares his journey to making history, and becoming a pro. Just two years after holding his first racket, at the age of six, Ronald began taking tennis lessons and entering tournaments. Although it was just a hobby at the time, Ronald would quickly take a liking to the sport, wanting to take it more seriously each time he played. At age 12, he began taking summer lessons in Florida for tennis, sacrificing his summer vacations to train. Two years later, with his parents’ support, Ronald moved to Florida to train for tennis full time.

While still attending high school, Ronald practiced tennis every day until he started seeing the tournament results he wanted. By age 15, he began entering in every national tournament he could, and by 16 had taken home the championship at the Eddie Herr Junior tournament, a prestigious event.

This quickly generated attention from nationally ranked tennis players who began inviting Ronald to train with them, seeing his potential. “My main role model has always been Gael Monfils so when I had the opportunity to train with him it was one of the best moments of my life on the tennis court because he has always been my favorite tennis player. The way he interacts with his fans and his love for the game I found astounding” recalls Ronald. This would ignite a flame inside of Ronald to become a nationally recognized player, and was now getting the support from some of the best players in the world.

It was at age 18, that Ronald made tennis history. Becoming the first and only player in the tournament’s 52 years of existence to win the Easter Bowl out of the qualifier bracket. This meant that Ronald had to win 9 consecutive games in 9 days. Winning this tournament led Ronald to become nationally ranked, he is currently the number 1 player on LSU’s tennis team. With a strong work ethic and mentality on and off the court, we can expect to see Ronald Hohmann serving up big things for himself down the line.
