Gloria Kloter has been noted as an emerging industry leader and has won many awards for her designs and involvement in her community. However, her successful journey did not come easy. Although she is working on creating a successful architecture brand for herself, she had to take her daily responsibilities as a mom and as an architect to get where she is today. To add to the challenges has been the recent Covid-19 pandemic.
Managing her own company, she has worked on a variety of commercial and residential projects. She’s also developed relationships with real estate investors and developers. One of her key skills is networking and building a strong reputation. Some of these talents she’s developed throughout her career which began in 2004 in the Dominican Republic. She moved to the United States in 2015 and has grown a lot since then.
As one of the best in Florida, she found success by being persistent and authentic. When she had come to the US, she could not work as an architect as she had to go through the process of transferring her education, experience and studying for the exams.
As she had faced problems when she was starting as an architect in the US, she created a group on Facebook called “Foreign Architects” to help other immigrant architects to find their way and give them correct guidance. There was and is, still a lack of resources for those looking to transfer their license from other countries but she’s determined to change that.
She became the Architect Licencing Advisor for the State of Florida through AIA Florida and began to help other architects. She answers all the questions and even makes time for one-on-one sessions with those who need help. Gloria reveals that she does not charge anything for providing guidance and help to others, she does it to help other immigrants to find a way out and to rise in the world. She simply wants to uplift them.
Gloria’s architecture firm, “Glow Architects” has been featured in multiple local and international publications, thanks to Gloria’s hard work. With a strong team around her she’s managed to build a successful business while maintaining a healthy lifestyle as a mother. She hopes that she can inspire other architects to pursue their dreams too.
