Kissa McCarty is far from the typical college student. While many of her classmates are seeking internships and deciding what they plan to do with their careers, Kissa has already made incredible progress in hers. She’s only 22 years old, and she’s already amassed over 1.3 million followers on social media.
She’s most active on Instagram, where she promotes her fitness brand and documents the results of her hard work in the gym. Since growing rapidly on Instagram, she’s branched onto platforms like Twitter, Tik Tok, YouTube, OnlyFans and Snapchat to make her internet presence as strong as possible.
Ever since she was a little girl, Kissa has had an obsession for gymnastics and athletics. She knew that in order to become a great gymnast that she’d need to work hard, focus, dedicate a significant amount of her time, and sacrifice time with friends and her social life. Ever since she’s adapted that mentality, she’s applied it to everything else in her life.
Her hard work ethic has allowed her to be enrolled in AP classes all throughout high school, attend college and purchase her first car, but it wasn’t until her junior year of college that Kissa’s hard work met tremendous opportunity. She was reposted by a popular Instagram page, and her follower count began to skyrocket. Social media gave her a chance to apply her work ethic to something that’s rewarded her tremendously, and the limitless opportunities available online have enabled her to dedicate herself more than ever before.
Kissa plans to graduate college this spring and pursue social media full time, which is a reality she would have only dreamed of just a few years prior. She’d always had plans to take the traditional route of graduating college and entering the workforce as an engineer, and it wasn’t until the fateful day that she was reposted on a popular Instagram page that her social media page began racking up followers by the thousands. Talking about that day, Kissa says, “I always think that luck is just when preparation meets opportunity, so when I got the chance to have a platform of thousands of engaged followers I took full advantage of it.”
Now that her social media presence has grown into something that can support her full time after college, Kissa has plans to continue branching into new platforms and begin advising others on how to become social media influencers. True to her strong work ethic, Kissa feels this is only the beginning for her in her career and the best is yet to come.
