Who is James William Awad (@senior)?
First off, he’s the founder of TripleOne which is described as: “A decentralized company where users around the world work together to build and manage it. With already 13 companies under management, Its official public release is expected to happen this year.” According to one of their posts on Instagram.
It sounds pretty new age, and woo woo. Not too far off from what Bitcoin sounded like when it’s white paper released shortly after the housing market bubble popped back in 2008.
But what are the similarities?
They’re both decentralized, but what does that really mean? And how can a company be centralized?
According to Awad, TripleOne will manage and operate e-commerce, real estate, and other businesses as a decentralized team. Each member will be paid out on a monthly basis based on the value brought to the table. Value such as coming up with business ideas, and fulfilling related work that comes with any business venture.
Some of the businesses already owned under the TripleOne banner include Nature Gloom, Lucy & Louis, and Astrofit.
Awad is currently working on fleshing out the concept while making sure its initial companies are running and growing. The initial companies will allow them to test the concept once it’s online.
Awad came up with the idea for his decentralized company when he was just a teenager. But it really started way before then.
He started programming at the age of 11 and he hasn’t stopped since. His first go at a business was a video game he completed at the age of 12. But without any marketing or sales experience, the company got scratched.
He then went on to start many other ventures. He worked under a pseudonym as a freelance developer before he was old enough to get a legal job. He even hacked an online video game platform in order to “steal” online currency to sell to a company in China.
All in all, James has had quite the career. And at the ripe age of 27 he’s ready to take it to the next level with TripleOne. That is where he spends all of his time currently, but he says that he’s not getting burned out.
“People could think that my life is very stressful, but it’s really not. It’s quite simple actually. I work on TripleOne basically every day of the week,” James reflects.
Awad has learned that when he is doing something he loves, it never feels like work. This has made him much more productive as he has a constant desire to improve.
He says that all entrepreneurs should pursue their passion, no matter how out of the box, or out of reach their goals may seem.
“The only way you’re going to be successful is if you dedicate yourself to achieving your dream. You can’t worry about working long hours or even getting paid for your work. Because often times the pay day will be months or even years in the future. And the only thing that will sustain you is your passion,” James reflects.
James thinks it’s important to spread the opportunity that entrepreneurship provides to all parts of the world. He knows that a lot of people in undeveloped countries don’t have the same opportunities as those in more comfortable situations. But he hopes that TripleOne can start bringing those opportunities to light.
“There’s no barrier to getting started with TripleOne other than having an internet connection. And your growth is not capped. The more value you can bring to the project you work on, the more value you will receive in return. That’s the beauty of decentralization,” James reflects.
