Get to know Smitha Lee, also known as Lee Smith, an extraordinary filmmaker and photographer based in the United States. He began his career as an actor and a dancer, which eventually led him to his beloved passion – film. He purchased his first camera, which was a T2i, and quickly realized how expensive the lenses were, so he added photography to his list of talents. He soon fell in love with both photography and filmmaking.
Smitha Lee is located in the South Carolina area. His career started out nearby in a small production in Greenville, SC. Being able to capture people’s most beautiful moments through photography empowers him to create. He is inspired by people – “One of my greatest inspirations is Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, I love his dedication to finding a yes instead of a no” said Smitha.
Smitha has big hopes for South Carolina in the film industry, one day he would like to have a production company that hires 50% of the talent within SC behind the camera. His hardest obstacle to overcome was working in a smaller industry that is frequently overlooked by nearby, big cities – such as Atlanta. You can be sure that when you work with him, your ideas will come to life. He loves working with people in their pure, creative form. Smitha Lee is currently working on a short film which depicts an older couple that is separated by love, you won’t want to miss it.
