A survey carried out in the business world has highlighted that a lot of startups have been conducting big conferences online due to the spread of the deadly coronavirus across the globe. Many big tech conferences from Mobile World Congress to Facebook’s F8 event have been canceled following the creation of an alarming situation due to coronavirus outbreak.
Started in Wuhan province of China, the deadly COVID-19 disease has spread globally and it has raised an alarming situation across the globe. Until now, about 85 countries have been affected because of this disease and it has been spreading fear like a fire. Over 3600 people have died after being infected due to COVID-19 and more than 1,00,000 infections have been noticed from across the world.
The GSMA, known for running Mobile World Congress has canceled its flagship event and Facebook has also said no to organize the F8 event. Many major tech firms have also canceled, postponed or altered their events due to the fear of coronavirus spread. Google canceled its I/O event which was supposed to show new product features. In addition to this, Microsoft will also conduct its MVP Global Summit this month in the virtual environment.
Popular startups namely Hopin and Run The World have introduced platforms for hosting their small and big events in the digital format. According to the spokespersons of these two firms, they have taken the decision to conform to the demands from various participants and they have decided to take the decision to host digital events due to the increasing health concerns.
