Motivational Speaker Brandon Chastang Sheds Light on the Struggles Brought by Addiction

While success can take many forms, the journey towards it is just as important. This includes being tenacious in the face of adversity and accepting the need to improve oneself to achieve goals. Such is the story of Brandon Chastang. Before being publicly known as the motivational speaker, activist, actor, and director, B McFly, Brandon had to learn how to persevere against hardships and battle himself.

Being born into teenage parents who were into substance abuse, Brandon grew up with his grandmother. She imparted with him the need to create a life far from the shadows of his parents through getting a proper education. His toxic home environment further fostered his drive to succeed. Brandon heeded his grandmother’s advice and graduated from Lincoln University with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice degree.

Life, however, has an odd way of panning out. Two months later, Brandon found himself in the hospital after being shot. The incident landed him at the hospital for a week and in extreme pain. To keep him steady and the sharp nails of the pain at bay, he was prescribed Percocet. Brandon started to take Percocet for relief but found himself reaching for the tablets more often than needed. That was the start of his downward spiral towards an addiction that lasted for fourteen years.

Brandon lost sight of life during that point and became a criminal who neglected his family. He eventually reached a point where he wanted to end his life, a personal rock bottom. However, determined to give his life one last shot, he checked himself into Arms Acres, an inpatient rehabilitation facility in New York. After 30 intensive days of treatment and rehabilitation, Brandon came out a new man.

His time in the facility turned his life for the better. Brandon reinvented himself and took on a new name, B McFly, which stands for Being Motivated Comes From Loving Yourself. Understanding that thousands of people had gone through the same struggles as he did, he became a motivational speaker and activist against substance abuse.

Four years of sobriety made Brandon realize how staying sober and in control was and still is a challenge, but one that is getting easier every day. At the heart of his determination to recover is acknowledging how getting better and improving oneself is a never-ending process.

Brandon now uses skits to reenact real-life situations in order to raise awareness about the struggles and the difficulties of overcoming addiction. With over 20 million views on social media for his 15 compelling one-minute skits, he has impacted many people who want to break free from addiction. He is committed to helping people become the best version of themselves by admitting them into rehab and creating a safe space for them by bringing into light the sensitive topics rarely discussed.

Brandon Chastang continues to be a source of inspiration for anyone on the road to personal development. He brings together deep wisdom and good communication to deliver compassionate guidance to those seeking to escape the clutches of addiction.
