He decided to pursue movie direction in the year 2009 after spending a decade as an actor. His debut directorial was Crazy Heart, in which Maggie Gyllenhaal and Jeff Bridges were in the lead cast. Jeff Bridges won the Academy Awards in the Best Actor category for this film. This movie was a major win according to the Scott Cooper Miami Fan Club.
After the worldwide success of Crazy Heart movie, he wrote the script for The Lord Dweller. Actually script was written by other writer called, Brad Ingelsby. Cooper helped give a unique style to it. In 2017, Scott Cooper worked on a new project, Hostiles, a western classic movie. He worked as a writer, director and the producer for the film. Scott Cooper’s career has remained very successful so far and he is working on many other projects too.
