The Drummer’s Ear: How Recording Artist Hailee Became ‘HUTCH’

Hailee, also known as HUTCH, is a drummer, recording artist, and producer. In high school, people would tell her that the name Hailee didn’t really suit her, so everybody just started calling her HUTCH. In those early days of HUTCH’s drum career, she describes just feeling natural on the drum set; a place where she knew she belonged.

HUTCH received her first drum kit on Christmas Day at the age of 4 years old; since then, she has yet to put those drum sticks down. With notable inspirations from artists like Jimmy Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, and Earth Wind & Fire, it’s clear that HUTCH has an ear for the classics.

Although HUTCH describes herself as just a simple drummer and musician, her dedicated fanbase on social media follow her for more than just her awesome talents.

For many of us, watching someone else get to live out their dreams to the absolute fullest is incredibly inspirational. It isn’t easy developing a talent while at the same time being confident enough to showcase that talent to the world. For me, HUTCH is just that artist who’s going to change things.

As a snowboarder, drummer, music producer and rock music aficionado, HUTCH has generated an outstanding following on social media by showcasing her journey through music.

Whether it’s posting a brand new single she helped create or a tour photo with popular artist L.A. Salami, HUTCH is truly living life to the fullest by doing what she loves every single day and has accumulated a steady fan base following across social media even during the pandemic across Instagram.

With punchy yet smooth drumming capabilities,HUTCH is bringing back one of the most important elements to the drum kit:hard work and passion.

HUTCH has played with School of Rock for many years while also completing two summer programs at Berklee College of Music in Boston.

HUTCH gave us the inside scoop on how she initially met poplar artists L.A. Salami:

“He liked one of my photos on Instagram, and I slid in his DMs and told him I liked his dreads. Then he asked me if I would be his drummer for upcoming American tour dates. I said yes, and it all just went from there.”

The authenticity of HUTCH is something that we need to see more of online and in music. HUTCH truly cares about the people who support her and she makes sure to let them know how she feels about them every now and then. Hard work, positivity, and raw talent; that’s truly what it’s all about and artists like HUTCH have an incredible journey that we can’t wait to watch unfold.

With a brand new website portfolio and new music on the way, make sure to stay up to date with HUTCH’s journey.
