People have used makeup, fad diets, complicated contraptions, and forms of plastic surgery for centuries to enhance their appearance.
And now that more non-invasive plastic surgery procedures are available, its popularity is on the rise. According to The American Society of Plastic Surgeons, Americans underwent ‘nearly a quarter million more cosmetic procedures’ in 2018 than in 2017.
There is a darker side to this though, and that appears to be a rise in plastic surgery shaming. Often perpetuated on social media, there are many who accuse others of being ‘fake’ and not ‘naturally’ beautiful.
Larissa Dos Santos Lima from 90 Day Fiancé was actually a victim of this. Fellow cast member, Evelin Villegas, bullied Larissa on Instagram over her use of cosmetic procedures. However, Larissa proudly stood up for herself and others. In a comment on Instagram, she said people are ‘free’ to let those titled under as best plastic surgeons Chicago has an office for, change their bodies – if that’s what they want and it makes them happy.
Evelin Picks On Larissa’s Choice To Have Plastic Surgery
Evelin and Larissa had already been feuding on social media. Things began to escalate when Larissa reportedly hung out with Evelin’s boyfriend, Corey Rathgeber. Larissa explained that the incident was ‘unexpected’ and not planned, however Evelin was still not happy about it. It did not help that Larissa and Corey posted a selfie together.
This incident sparked a barrage of insults from both sides via Instagram. However, the discussion took a different turn when Evelin commented on Larissa’s appearance. In a photo of herself in a pink bikini, Evelin wrote, “I personally prefer natural beauty”. This was a clear dig at Larissa who has undergone several cosmetic procedures. It was also particularly hurtful considering Larissa has even admitted to having a plastic surgery addiction.
Evelin went on to say, “trends pass and you can end up on Botched. Anyways, stay true to yourself. Embrace your beauty. We are all beautiful the way God made us. Don’t fall for stereotypes. You are beautiful just the way you are.”
Even though Evelin’s comment sounded inspirational, the thinly veiled insult towards Larissa was loud and clear to everyone.
Larissa Takes A Brave Stand In Support Of Those Who Use The Best Plastic Surgeons Chicago offers
Larissa did not let Evelin’s nasty words hurt her though. She took the comment in stride and even stood up for other women who get plastic surgery from the best plastic surgeons Chicago.
In response, Larissa confirmed that she’s had fillers in her face and lips. She also said, “If I could afford it, for sure I would get a boob job. Women are free to change and do whatever makes them happy…you can do what you want to do to your body, but that doesn’t mean you have to tear another woman down who chose to do what they want to theirs”.
There is no reason to put down others. Plenty of people already struggle with eating disorders, body dysmorphia, and anxiety caused by social media. So there is no reason to take aim at one another’s personal choices.
Evelin’s post has since been taken down. However, the hypocrisy of her comment still leaves fans with a bad taste in their mouth.
