What does it take for an artist to a breakthrough in the music industry? Some might say it’s a combination of luck, right place, right time, charm, talent, and confidence. Not necessarily in that order, but close. A few decades ago, every artist had one goal in mind, to get signed by a reputed and well-known record label. There are several benefits of releasing your music through an established record label like an excessive amount of funding, networking, and connections, and the size and reputation, just to name a few.
You no longer have to “know somebody” or “get lucky” to grow your income and build a fan base. As long as you’re making good music in any genre, you have an audience. But how do you reach out to them? With the pace the world is moving forward, there are a lot of things that are changing, from driverless cars to robots imitating humans. One trend this sudden boom in technology has given us is “self-released” artists.
The uprising of social media platforms has raised a serious question “Are record labels at the brink of extinction?” While the internet and social media have given so much power to people giving them a platform to unravel their talent to the world, releasing music through a record label remains leaps and bounds ahead, and its advantages cannot be ignored.
Opportunities Without DIscrimination
LeftRight Music Group (LRMG), a music and entertainment company, continues to prove the world that if you have the right platform and people supporting your talent, you don’t need luck. Founded on July 29, 2019, Hans Tondereau, a record producer, LRMG, aims to represent artists from all over the world without any discrimination. LRMG is a US-based music record company with its headquarters in Manhattan, New York, US. The company mission states, “to create a remote stand dome to help independent, especially third world country artists break through the competitive surface of the music market with a 50%50 record deal worldwide.”
LRMGx was structured to provide these individuals with a chance to succeed in a market that does not offer much in terms of opportunity. The company was established to promote and support creative and talented musicians struggling to find their way into the industry. LRMG helps aspiring musicians connect with the right audience at a global level.
Let Your Song Be Found In the Sea of Music
Just one year after the company was founded, it acquired other brands such as the LRMG X, including its Hiilands Music and Rapso Records. Hans Tondereau, The founder and CEO of LRMG, knows the importance of working with notable entities and how it benefits not just the artists but the company as well. The company works with brands including LRMGx, THE BOXKC, Berlin Motion, and is partners with Jade Skye Music, Hat Label Publishing, and FIVONI. The network allows LRMG to help talented musicians find success easy and fast.
LRMG’s rise to fame has been almost lightning fast. Recently, the company worked with Merlin Zapravo, a Spanish-Haitian artist, previously known as Ashte. Like many others, Merlin was also struggling to survive in the industry in the United States, but courtesy of LRMG, success soon came knocking on his door.
While there are several other record labels such as Universal Musical Publishing Group, RCA, Warner Music Group, Sony Music Entertainment, and many more, not everyone serves to empower those in need. There isn’t a silver lining to how these companies work. In general, music companies prefer to work with popular and established artists, unlike LeftRight Music Group.
Just like Merlin, the company aims to work with other musicians and help them find their success in the sea of talent. Hans Tondereau aims to inspire independent artists with little to no means to support their vision.
The 50/50 Approach
Merlin Zapravo was the first artist LRMG worked with. He was signed with a 50/50 recording contract that includes income from all live performances, recording rights, publishing, touring, and distribution. This means the company doesn’t earn unless the talent does. LRMG aims to change the way musicians find success and give every talent an opportunity and platform to be heard without being discriminated on the basis of nationalities, ethnicities, cultures, traditions, or religion.
