The US president, Donald Trump had recently revealed that they would closely be monitoring John Walker Lindh, an individual who took up arms in support of the Taliban. This was to be carried out closely after his release from federal prison, which took place that Thursday.
According to Trump, he believes that Lindh had not given up his proclamation of terror, adding that he wasn’t fond of this idea even one bit at all. Trump even approached lawyers to look into any possible moves should be undertaken to block the release of John Walker Lindh.
Unfortunately for him, from a legal standpoint, there was nothing which could be done. The lawyers claimed that there was nothing that they were even allowed to do regarding his release.
The 38 year old Lindh had gotten time off primarily for his good behaviour at a federal penitentiary in Terre Haute, Indiana. He left the penitentiary he was exiled to after pleading guilty to providing support to the Taliban.
On the other hand, Lindh’s lawyer refused to comment on that very Thursday.
