The Counting On star Jilly Duggar is in news, mostly because of her controversial husband Derick Dillard. But now her social media posts have stolen the spot light. She is now sharing and preaching the idea of leaving abusive relationships.
Jill Duggar shocks Counting On fans when she shared the post, saying how the story of her friend inspired her. Her friend was a victim of abuse. But now she is out of harm’s way and doing better.
Her message is for all young women and men who are in abusive relationships but can’t get out of it. She also shared the statistics, saying 1 in every 3 women and 1 in every 4 men, experiences abusive relationships.
She writes that slapping, shoving and pushing are also forms of abuse. Verbal attacks are also emotional abuse. Even though all these do not come under the category of domestic violence.
Jill shared a post on instagram from the account of “Understanding the narc( Narcissist)” It informs about how to be aware of sociopathic people. She didn’t stop at this but also shared a post by the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence. It said “Why do Victims stay”. The article explains the psychology of a victim and how traumatic the experience is.
Women stay in abusive relationships because religion asks them to. But it’s not healthy to do so. Some religions promote outdated gender roles which is harmful for the silent victims.
Even though Jill says it’s her friend who suffered from the abuse, fans believe it is actually her story with her husband Derick.
