Awakened Insights in business: How to live a Soul-Led Life as an Entrepreneur

Keying into modern-day “wokeness” has far too many people separating the concepts of humanity and spirituality into two different world views. In reality, one can’t exist without the other and the stigma on spirituality is rather unfounded. It doesn’t correlate with weird or dramatic, but it’s more in line with intuition, fulfillment, and enlivening consciousness. It helps you to appreciate the little things of life a lot more and connect with earthly activities in a purposeful manner.

Essentially, staying in tune with your spiritual side makes you a wiser and happier entrepreneur. In a capitalist world labored with relentless hustling, being in control of the energies you absorb and require daily keeps you one step ahead of the toll it might take on your mental and physical health.

Some entrepreneurs have attained traditional forms of financial success, but within themselves, they feel empty and totally unfulfilled. “I have the zeroes in my account, what’s next for me? Why can’t I be happy and satisfied?” Success should create room for an easy life moving forward, but it’s not merely about financial wealth. Golfing and sipping margaritas by the poolside won’t always cut it, especially if the initial passion and eagerness have died down, leaving beneath an endless pool of questions and uncertainty.

“A lack of passion suggests a misalignment with the call of your soul,” says Australian mystic Rebecca Campbell, an international bestselling writer, poet, healer, and spiritual teacher. “When you follow what lights you up, you light up the world without even trying. When you follow the invisible thread of what lights you up and act on it every day, you’ll find yourself right in the middle of your soul’s calling. When you are living a truly passionate life, you are not just living your calling, rather, you’re also answering a collective calling.”

Alongside writing life-changing books and personally tutoring thousands of soul-seeking clients, Campbell has spent the past 20 years of her life searching for answers on how everyday people can immerse themselves easily into a more purposeful, soul-led life. She shares a transformational three-step guide that changed the course of her own life over the years.

Connect with your soul

Just as the body needs feeding, watering, and washing to be maintained every day, the soul requires the same quality and consistency of care. Soul care is the essence of true spirituality. We only begin to live and thrive when our three states of being are always in optimum health – the body, mind, and soul. Your soul needs just as much daily care to stay full and alive. Many business people feeling detached from their daily endeavors or unsatisfied with their success are usually neglecting their souls’ wellness.

“Connecting with your soul is about showing up to a non-negotiable daily practice,” says Campbell, who has authored six best-selling guide books including Light is the New Black, Rise Sister Rise, and Letters To A Starseed. “This could be anything from meditation to chanting, from dancing to walking in nature, from reading poetry to journaling. Anything that invites your soul to step forward and your mind to step aside. You know you have made a connection with your soul when you feel time start to stretch and expand.”

Receive the call

The soul speaks to us through inner whispers, dreams, visions, feelings, longings, and yearnings. Just as relationships can only thrive if the partners communicate effectively, your connection with your soul can only bloom meaningfully if you communicate with your inner self. Sometimes, you just have to listen. Your soul often has a lot of useful ideas to share. It heightens your instincts, sharpens your intuition, and makes you more aware of your moves and decisions.

“The structure that I use to receive the call of my intuition is Soul Inquiry,” says Campbell. “Soul Inquiry is a dialogue with your soul. You ask simple and open questions to allow your soul to step forward and speak. One of the Soul Inquiry prompts I use the most is ‘What is your soul calling you to do?…’ I recommend doing the Soul Inquiry Process by writing down your answers. You can fill an entire page or you can write one sentence. When you are writing, trust what comes and try not to overthink it. Begin writing before you know what you are writing. Let your soul guide your hand.”

Finally, act on the call.

In Campbell’s words, “Intuition is pointless unless you act on it”.

If only I had listened to my gut… Maybe it wasn’t your gut throwing up signals. It could have been your soul speaking. If you learn how to receive messages from your soul, all that intuition would be for nothing if you do not act accordingly. Diversify that brand, buy that new equipment, write that book, book a sabbatical, or add that new product to your listing. Really, listen to the voice and take charge.

In conclusion, Campbell idealizes a deep connection with one’s soul as a genuine way of life. “Taking baby steps in the direction of the call will transform your life. You will move from receiving guidance to living a guided life.  Listening and acting on the calls of our soul is not a one-time thing, it is a way of life. It requires that we prioritize the connection, trust the guidance we receive and act on it every day.”
