Prior to July 2019, Instagram growth services, largely executed by bot automation, were all the rage. They were effective, efficient, and yielded targeted growth outcomes for people seeking to scale their audience in a way that was aligned with their brands and business objectives.
Then, a major Instagram algorithm update took place.
Suddenly, companies that were on the fast track to global domination were eviscerated as their services no longer worked and began getting their customers’ accounts action blocked or even suspended altogether.
Jumper Media, a global Instagram growth business with a 1,500 customer base and 1,000 person Philippines-based team, was one of the agencies initially hit hard by this change. One thing that differentiated them, however, is how founder Colton Bollinger addressed the issue. Rather than closing down the business or completely pivoting, he instead realized the necessity of growth by hand techniques.
“After automation and software growth on IG got such a bad rap last year, […] I flew to the Philippines to see how plausible [it would be to] outbound engagement for clients.”
Bollinger spent a chunk of his time in the Philippines identifying the best methods to employ a large number of people to support his customer base– growing impatient from the recent disruptions surrounding the Instagram algorithm change.
He realized quickly that there was no shortage of individuals eager to work and grow their skill sets.
“Now we have a team of 1,000 people managing thousands of client accounts again. [And not only that, but] what we do now [is] provide thousands of stay-at-home moms in the Philippines with additional income and jobs for their families.”
The biggest lesson he learned? There is nothing more impactful than the human touch. By identifying the right team members and processes for them to execute, Jumper has more than recouped its losses from the 2019 issue.
Today Jumper Media boasts a client-base that’s growing at a rate as fast as their accounts are– a whopping 1,500 customers.
To keep up with the growth, Bollinger’s recruitment team, also Philippines based, hires 20 people daily to keep up with the demand.
“It truly is amazing, and I am so grateful.”
