Rikita Rene Lincoln who is Professionally known as Rene Bonét spent most of her childhood in a small town called Leesburg Virginia right outside of our Nation’s Capital Washington DC. She started writing poetry in high school and then putting her words to music for family and friends.
Rene Bonet moved on to doing open mics and a few recordings in the Washington DC area, but felt limited by such a small town. When Bonet’s 21-year-old brother Jajuan “Murphy” Johnson was shot and killed near Middleburg in 2008, she knew it was time to get out of Loudoun.
Finding her passion for music through poetry led Rene to seek after more than just the typical “9-5” lifestyle, and because of that she had to walk many roads alone. Shortly after graduated from Loudoun County high school the DMV native made the move to Atlanta Georgia to explore her creativity. It is here that she was able to connect and create a long-term friendship with the Late Grammy Award Winning Sound Engineer and Producer Alvin Speights, (Michael Jackson, Madonna, & Boyz II Men). While under his tutelage she gained priceless knowledge in the studio that would help her with her future in the music and the entertainment industry. Bonét Is a classic representation of true R&B music, and her alter ego as Bully Barbé is sure to intrigue and astonish the Hip Hop scene. Recently acknowledged for her accomplishment with her latest release featured on RevoltTV who was founded by Hip Hop Mogul Sean P. Diddy combs, This artist is making it very hard not to notice her. In 2019 Rene Bonét connected with Bad Boys Lauren Ann Gibson and OC Hit-official’s Thomas Barsoe to participatate in the Dream Warrior Artist Development Camp in Los Angela’s California. Under these two Rene is learning how to live in her truth as she continues the journey of developing her talent.
