Israel is set to experience a large crowd of tourists during holiday season. Israel’s Tourism Ministry has predicted that there will be more than 165,000 Christians expected to visit the country during the Christmas holiday season. And as reported by OneWorldHerald, the number of tourists this November are already 16% more as compared to the figure of last November.
Yariv Levin is the Tourism Minister in Israel. He will welcome the visitors to pre-Christmas reception. Israeli Christians, ambassadors and church leaders will also be present in the reception. Many leaders from Christian organizations in Israel and other reputed personalities from different communities are also expected to be there.
Israeli Tourism Ministry has planned to provide a free shuttle service between Jerusalem and Bethlehem. Every year a large number of Christian pilgrims visit for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day from these two locations. Church of the Nativity is already experiencing hundreds of people in Bethlehem for annual Christmas tree lighting celebration. This place becomes much more crowdy on Christmas Day because many people believe it to be the birthplace of Jesus.
Tourism Ministry of Israel has also reported that last year the country had experienced a large number of visits of Christian tourists. More than fifty percent of all tourists who visited Israel were Christian.
During the holiday season, the tourists love to visit many famous sites in the country including the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, the Western Wall, Mount of Olives and Via Dolorosa. Though Israel is a small country, the tourism industry of the country generates large revenue. The country remains an attraction point for tourists for an entire year.
