A common scenario often plays out when people attempt to start an online business and are unsuccessful at it.
They were excited about the prospects and all the possibilities. They had everything figured out with the business idea, brand name, LLC filing, and so on. However, they decided to get some lessons on how to manage a business that runs on the internet. Perhaps, read a few articles, watch a few videos, take an online course, or listen to some podcasts. Typing their questions into Google’s search bar often pulls up an avalanche of information. Some are useful, resourceful, and practicable, while others are just a waste of mental space. In the end, a lot of people would burn out before they even get started.
An information overload usually manifests in the inability to make a decision or create a workable instruction flow because a person has too many resources at hand. Essentially, this is one of the reasons why “Googling” is considered an essential skill. Starting a business online should be one of the most adventurous endeavors a person could hope for in the computer age. However, things often go south when people attempt to “steer the ship without a compass”.
According to Australian entrepreneur and business coaching expert, Jaikishaan Sharma, running a business online these days should be a breeze, but most people are wrongly convinced that it’s complicated.
“When people think about online platforms, social media businesses, and making money online, they think that it’s highly technical,” Sharma says. “Some of the resources you’d find on the internet, coupled with learning with no proper curriculum can easily make a simple process look unnecessary complex. You can streamline your business and build a solid brand that practically runs itself by the click of a button on the internet. The first step to getting there is immersing yourself in the right learning curve.”
Sharma is the CEO of Sharmatricks, an online learning community that helps aspiring entrepreneurs build successful businesses online and eventually, create their own success stories. Sharma’s company works to connect individuals “with social media-based business opportunities, learn and support one another — all with the goal of helping grow home-based businesses with accessible tools and educational resources.”
Avoiding the avalanche – what’s the real secret?
The easiest way to avoid getting barraged with lots of contrasting and vastly confusing pieces of information is to orientate oneself against doing too much. This involves staying dedicated to one or two reputable hubs of information to streamline the content you consume. Although a particular community may not have all the resources you need, attempting to take in everything from everywhere is a one-way ticket to irreversible burnout.
Also, using other people’s journeys as a yardstick to measure your own progress is not the wisest strategy. There’s a fine line between looking up to people for motivation and simply being obsessed with recreating their lives. Businesses are just as different as the entrepreneurs that handle them, and trying to copy someone else to the letter would usually either drive you nuts or out of work.
One such community that provides a streamlined curriculum for aspiring businesspersons is Sharmatricks. With over 70,000 registered members worldwide, Sharmatricks is pioneering the next level of digital business owners and operators through extensive coaching and unlimited access to amazing resources.
“When people think about online platforms, social media businesses, and making money online, they think that it’s technical,” Sharma explains. “But it’s not technical anymore. It’s as simple as the click of a button. The way we’ve created our system, we have 24/7 online training available if people need guidance. Our community doesn’t have to go away searching for answers for hours. It’s all available in our training in video format. All you need to do is watch and implement. People out here can get their businesses up and running within 30 days, from home, generating money while they sleep, spend time with family, or go on holiday. What’s more, we help our clients scale on every major social media platform.”
Members are trained on the foundational aspects of business administration: product research, marketing, and sales systems. The core goal of any business is to provide value and return profits eventually. Choosing a great product or service niche to start with and diversifying when things become stable in the future is a sure bet for progress. Next, a business cannot thrive if people do not know it exists. Marketing your brand to get some attention online is vital to the growth and sustenance processes. Finally, you need a consistent and dedicated system to move things along with sales and deals. A sales funnel allows entrepreneurs to manage their sales opportunities effortlessly and improve operational efficiency.
Evolving with the world
Sharmatricks was created out of the founder’s desire to see more people building adversity-proof businesses online.
“Following the events of 2020 and how millions of businesses were shut down worldwide, people realized that most of those businesses that thrived during the pandemic were running on the internet,” Sharma said.
Sharma discovered the dangers of having only one source of income when he suffered a terrible accident in 2015. He’d been working a 9-5 job for 12 years as a door-to-door sales rep and telemarketer. He was thriving at his job until the accident in 2015 that affected his spine and left the doctors convinced he would never walk again.
“I struggled to accept this reality and eventually started dealing with severe anxiety and depression,” Sharma recounts. “I was bound to a wheelchair and couldn’t provide for my family. During a particularly rough time in my life, my mother was paying all of my bills. If not for her, I would have lost my house.”
Sharma recalls that it was his daughter’s infantile disposition toward life that changed his mindset forever.
“One day, I was sitting in my wheelchair, and I saw my daughter playing on the floor,” he said. “She was so happy and care-free. This fleeting moment in time stuck with me, and I knew that I had two choices: either do something or regret my entire life spent sitting in this wheelchair. It was time to dispel those feelings of negativity from my mind. From then on, I was more committed and driven than ever before.”
The little girl motivated him to read harder than he already was – learning, growing and enriching his mind. Following the breakthrough surgery that fixed his spine and had him walking again in 2019, Sharma decided he wanted to create a community that would help people secure their futures by building their own legacies.
“The pandemic taught people that they need to turn their passion into a paycheck because you can’t rely on just one income stream anymore,” he affirmed. “Going online is the best option available in the market right now. As people start to realize this and move into the digital space, they’ll be equipped and prepared for the next tidal wave.”
