Spencer Vann: From Shattering His Dreams Of Becoming An Athlete to Shaking The Real Estate Industry Through Surplus Fund

The real estate industry can be a bit challenging for both realtors and investors if you’re just gonna focus on the typical side of the real estate industry – buying and selling houses plus marketing yourself and your firm. But thanks to those who are constantly hungry to learn more than many other realtors and investors are benefiting from untouched goldmines that these hungry visionaries discover.

Spencer Vann is the co-founder and CEO of SurplusFund.com, a team of financial coaches with years and decades of proven financial success in the real estate industry who are helping homeowners and real estate investors learn about and make money out of surplus funds – overages or excess money from sales of foreclosed houses.

Spencer Vann’s success in real estate and his current business was not just handed to him. Every accomplishment he reached was because of his immense efforts, extreme and intense drive to help his family, and unmistakable determination to break out of their tough financial situation and eventually provide a comfortable life for his family, especially his younger brother Mason. A few years after Spencer Vann was born, Mason was diagnosed with extreme autism which drove his parents to save up as much excess money as possible to help afford the best medical treatment for his younger brother Mason.

Spencer grew up not having much because his family needed to almost always put Mason’s needs first. Spencer spent many nights sleeping on their concrete floor because his parents had to rip off their carpet after Mason ruined it because was not potty trained. At that time, his family’s struggles seemed to be endless. This drove and motivated Spencer to dream big to help his family, especially his younger brother Mason. He started to excel in sports, most specifically basketball, and aspired to become an NBA player one day. But this dream was short-lived. Spencer shattered his ankle and was unable to walk and play basketball for over 6 months. He realized that his dreams of becoming a successful athlete have been stripped away for good.

All of these unfortunate events made Spencer Vann depressed. His mom would spend time with him to comfort him and would often talk about her dreams of one-day buying and owning her own house. All her life was lived out of renting. Realizing that he could help his mother with her dream, Spencer started studying and learning about real estate in hopes of helping her buy her very first house or connect her with the right people in the industry.

Spencer Vann then became a full-time real estate agent at the age of 18, a year after he closed his first big wholesale deal. He continued reading and learning more about the different secrets in the industry until he eventually discovered surplus funds. He then reached out to another successful individual to collaborate and start up their own surplus funds business. Fast forward to today, Spencer and David together with their team of finance experts are helping and training many others to learn more about surplus funds and how they can reunite homeowners with their lost money.
