Star Finder Rich Fayden Discovering Your Next Favorite Music Artist

The music industry is one of the most competitive industries. Nowadays, it takes more than just talent to break into the cutthroat music business. The name Rich Fayden may not ring a bell, but the long list of talented artists he discovered definitely would. The executive producer has been one of the most prolific consultants for new musical talent since 2003. Sometimes, newcomers to the industry may not have many opportunities to showcase their musical prowess because they lack the right connections to record labels, producers, and promoters. By consulting with an expert and using his extensive network, Rich can assure young aspirants that the right people recognize their worth.

Rich knows how challenging it is nowadays to break into the music scene. “I do this mainly because no one ever did it for me. I really want to help get excellent music out there, to help cut through all the clutter and the competition that’s out there now for burgeoning new artists to navigate”, he recalls. Every day after school, the New York City native would walk the streets and subways, performing for passers-by. Then, one day in 1996, as Rich was singing in the lobby of Atlantic Records, he was approached by Craig Kallman, the former Vice President of A&R for Atlantic, and the rest was history.

After signing a deal with Atlantic Records, the then-struggling artist started collaborating with some of the renowned industry leaders, such as Max Martin, Rodney Jerkins, Diane Warren, and Brian Malouf. Throughout his career, Rich was in several boy groups and signed more label deals, allowing him to further his solid network with successful music producers. Rich eventually started working as a ghostwriter for big recording artists.

The year 2003 saw the emergence of the Internet platform Talent Match. Even while creating his own music, Rich began dedicating his time to scouting upcoming artists on the online treasure trove of talent, including MySpace. From rappers to musicians, Rich helped new talents to move closer to their goals by sending their material to managers and label heads. This venture laid the foundation for what would soon become a breeding ground for tomorrow’s prominent artists that he would discover, such as Shawn Mendes, Jack Harlow, Halsey, Sam Smith, and Conan Gray, among others. In addition, Rich works with top-tier labels and brand name producers such as Dave Aude, Oak Felder, Ian Kirkpatrick, and The Monsters and Strangerz, to name a few.

Rich is behind the success of many Billboard-charting records and radio hits. Although the music world may be dominated by stream and follower numbers, Rich remains focused on his pursuit of high-quality tracks. “Catchy songs will always be the gas that helps the music industry engine run.”, the music producer shares.

With his strong connections and vast experience, Rich is relentless in helping many new artists get their foot in the door, so they can have a real chance at finding success. The music producer reveals, “If I felt these artists had something really special, I contacted them, then went about sending out their links and pitching them to music industry executives I felt might be interested in their music. I was never looking to gain any fame for it; I just did what I could to help get these artists a fair chance to be heard.”
