The Real Estate Savvy and Philanthropic, Josh Welch, Builds ‘World Will Be Better’ Social Initiative

Josh Welch’s rise to prominence in real estate investment has been a quintessential rags-to-riches tale. Driven by the learnings and theories of creativity, ingenuity and innovative thinking, he introduced the same into his professional life. The son of two entrepreneurs was captivated by the idea of business and was dedicated to bring a change into conventional albeit stodgy real estate practices. In 2008, while focusing on purchasing, renovating, and renting, single-family homes, he encountered many inefficiencies in the real estate business and realized he could make a huge impact in the industry by transitioning into Multifamily Real Estate. Thus, in 2017, Welch left his job to start ‘Three Pillar Capital Group’.

Three Pillars Capital Group, located in Houston Texas and managing over $100M was inclined towards challenging the status quo and promising innovation to transform urban living. They are fueled by the deep belief to bring a change with their multiple high-performing projects and passionate creativity. Advocating the idea of serving people and communities, the group has been providing luxurious and stylish apartments at affordable prices. Elegance, class and affordability denote the “three” pillars of success for the group. It has quickly expanded beyond its initial focus and, since forming Greenline Apartment Management to handle all property management and renovations, Three Pillars Capital Group has moved into a more vertically integrated business model.

With the ceaseless growth of both companies and building overwhelming trust of their investors, Welch wanted to leave no room for imagination, and thus came up with the idea of the non-profit arm, ‘World Will Be Better’. It is committed to fundraising, designing and constructing temporary housing and support facilities for the vulnerable homeless populations, including the elderly, women and children.

World Will Be Better has partnered up with the ‘Turning Point Center’ which is currently engaged in easing the lives of many displaced homeless and elderly. Turning Point’s aim is to buckle down on the chronic shelter overflow issues of Houston by not only providing shelter, food, and clothing, but by equipping these underserved people to re-enter society through educational and life-long learning programs.

Turning Point Center has been a champion for this cause for decades, however, the current facilities are still not adequate to keep up with demand, particularly those of women and children. Welch is responding to this need with World Will Be Better and is spearheading the efforts to raise $5.5M in donations to build a brand new housing facility designed specifically with women and children in mind.

Welch believes in maintaining the highest standards of ethical and social practices in the business which is driven by a holistic approach that not only benefits the business and its people but also those without a roof over their heads. This philanthropic move by Three Pillars Capital will ensure a lasting contribution to society and help strengthen this much underserved demographic of Houston.

“We are passionate about constantly giving back to the community we live and work in” says Welch. “We have an obligation to care for those less fortunate than us, not by giving them a handout, but by creating an opportunity and equipping them with the tools to become successful contributing members of society.”
