Probably everyone who has some interest in the London social scene has heard about Antoin Commane. People from his close circle have even gone so far as to compare him with the fictionality society icon – the one and only Great Gatsby.
Commane became popular due to the parties he would host, attended by the cool cats and models of the IT scene.
Despite his relatively young age, Commane appears to have successfully achieved it all, but is this a facade? In doing our own investigative work and finding anonymous sources we found a lot more to this enigma character.
Antoin Commane was born in 1991, to an upper-middle class Irish family – a hard-working group, who had grown their fortune through their ventures in construction recruitment and property development.
Despite experiencing difficulties during his formative years, including developing a stutter, his business-centric upbringing inspired him to overcome his weaknesses and use his experiences to his advantage. It was this strong sense of determination that allowed him to leave his family home at 16, in the pursuit of becoming an entrepreneur in his own right.
Commane’s first business ventures were based online, setting up services in domain registration and site hosting. These first ventures – xReg and BeamHost – proved quite lucrative for Commane, attracting a great deal of interest from major players in the industry. This growing interest allowed Commane to sell the businesses at the age of just 21, leading to the growth of an impressive net worth for someone so young.
In between his entrepreneurial ventures, Commane took a course in acting, based in London’s famous Covent Garden, going on to be signed by an agent and take various roles as a result. However, business was Antoin’s first love, and he was ready for a new challenge.
Antoin Commane went on to operate a string of exclusive night spots and restaurants around London, including venues in Kensington and Mayfair. These venues were surrounded by an exclusivity that regularly attracted famous faces – even Prince Harry had been known to frequent some of Commane’s upmarket venues, which began building a reputation within gossip columns due to it’s famous clientele.
In the meantime, Antoin had used this interest and knowledge of promotions, events and nightlife to found his own lifestyle brand, Don’t Die Wondering, which began to throw weekly events. It appears that Commane’s reputation for appreciating the finer things in life had followed him, as these events were often attended by a range of well-known and well-respected guests, including models, actors, and some of the most famous influencers of the time.
Everything about Don’t Die Wondering was characteristically luxurious – the company’s office and team of ten staff were based on a boat on the River Thames. In the years since Don’t Die Wondering’s inception, it has evolved massively. DDW now also publishes news and features on everything from the worlds of fashion, art, music and high society.
There’s a mystique that continues to surround Commane and the Don’t Die Wondering brand, which may be one of the many reasons that Don’t Die Wondering’s exclusive events and parties are still attended today by big players on the social scene – events which have been covered many times by a range of top publications. Perhaps this enviable publicity is why Don’t Die Wondering are currently unable to accept applications for any new members until a current member gives up their highly-coveted spot within the society.
Antoin Commane’s other greatest area of expertise is digital marketing, and he shows a clear interest and understanding of Facebook advertisements and sales funnels. Advertising agency Coveria, one of Antoin’s other business ventures, has helped previous clients take their businesses to impressive heights, in a way that could only be achieved by someone with a deep understanding of social media and the way it can be used to build influence over a base of potential customers.
Antoin Commane is clearly a man with many strings to his bow, but this fast-paced, glamorous lifestyle isn’t without its pitfalls. Commane has spoken previously about the dramatic effects that the stress caused by his business ventures has had on him in the past. Fortunately, Commane experienced something of a spiritual awakening.
Despite his Catholic background, Commane had never previously considered himself religious, but began practising meditation for two to three hours each day, his curiosity fuelled by an interest in the scientific studies surrounding consciousness. Commane read thirty books on the topic before arriving at something of a spiritual epiphany, which, he says, changed his outlook on how he treated others, how he could develop and become the best version of himself, and how he viewed the world as a whole.
Since this spiritual awakening, he appears to have started to view life completely differently, and maintains that he now uses situations of sadness or negativity as a catalyst for change and improvement, attempting to find the silver lining among every cloud, and learning from any situation he may find himself in, whether that situation is good or bad.
So important to him is this belief, that he now uses his personal social media pages – which boast an incredibly impressive 230k followers across Instagram and Twitter – to spread these messages to his online followers. It’s clear that Antoin is driven by a need to help others to see the positives in a world with so many negatives, and to attempt to inspire others to aim for their best selves, just as he has in himself. He has encouraged his followers to ask for advice via his social media platforms, which shows an empathetic attitude, and one of someone who is determined to use their platform to cause a positive change in the lives of his followers.
His social media also shows, once again, his interest in modern, intellectual topics, such as metaphysics and philosophy. Even with so many business ventures and interests to balance, Antoin Commane doesn’t seem to be showing any signs of slowing down or fading out.
There isn’t a great deal of information out there about who Antoin Commane was before he was the Antoin Commane, but it’s certainly plain to see that he is very much here to stay. With such a varied list of expertise and intellectual interests, we can’t possibly predict what’s next for him, but what we can say for certain is that he has hundreds of thousands of people across social media waiting, eagerly, to find out.
