Eriksen and Soren Dickens’ Platinum Peek Productions is quickly becoming a well established digital media agency not only along the Central Coast, but across the country. The Dickens duo have built their company from scratch and have spent the last four years refining their vision and polishing their skills as content creators. Their goal is simple: use creative video content to drive more revenue for clients.
Born in the small town of Oakdale, California, Eriksen (25) and Soren (23) Dickens started experimenting with filmmaking when they were young children, but started to take it seriously while they were in college together. They launched their company out of Soren’s dingy dorm room, armed with a drone and a newly purchased camera. Their early days ranged from making music videos, documentaries, shooting events, promotional videos, drone work for real estate projects, short films, to even branching into wedding videography. It took the brothers a while to really pinpoint what they wanted to focus on, seeing video production is such a wide industry. Over the last four years, Platinum Peek Productions has refined their systems and now boasts a team of six talented professionals. The company now specializes in producing advertisements and sales videos for clients around the country.
The brothers have split roles amongst themselves with Soren looking after the technical and business aspects of business, whereas Eriksen handles the creative part. They have also partnered with a marketing agency and now produce video content for all of that agency’s clients, creating and managing 40 projects at a time. This has only been made possible by building a team of dedicated editors and cultivating their network to ensure referrals and good reviews.
Their most recent award winning documentary, Two Magic Drops, has also enhanced the company’s reputation. The film is based on Rotary International’s efforts to eradicate polio in India, and has since been selected to eight international film festivals, having also won two awards. The brothers have additionally produced four other documentaries that have helped solidify their place in the filmmaking industry.
